First Siemens gas turbines begin their journey to EgyptSiemens has shipped two gas turbines, which are scheduled to be installed in the Egypt's Beni Suef power plant in mid-May. The two 12.6m long and 5.5m wide SGT5-8000H turbines are first of eight to be installed in the plant in several phases.
Siemens signs long-term service agreement for existing power stations in EgyptSiemens has extended a long-term contract to provide service and maintenance, as well as component upgrades, at the Nubaria, Talkha and El Kureimat power stations in Egypt. The agreement was signed under the supervision of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), represented by Middle Delta Electricity Production Company and Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company. The 10-year extension calls for Siemens to continue providing service and maintenance for eight SGT5-4000F gas turbines and the associated generators.
Ongoing technical studies of solar power plant to generate 300 MWPrime Minister Sherif Ismail demanded completion of ongoing technical and financial studies for the 300 MW solar power plant, which will be carried out Canadian-US Sky Power, as a prelude to signing the final agreement of the project.
The government intends to provide any means necessary to begin implementation of this project, said Ismail during his meeting with the company’s delegation on Sunday evening, in the presence of Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman, according to statement by the cabinet.
